It’s Right Time to Think about Guest Posts

You might have heard of Guest Posts on your blogs. It’s a great way of getting new visitors and most importantly great links. I know a few blogs and websites those succeeds in getting great numbers of unique visitors in very short span of time using Guests Posts. But here comes a video from Google about what they think of guest posts.

You already know Google is paralyzing traditional ways of link building (Directory Submissions etc.). So what should we do it case of guest posts after these announcements from Google? The Answer is “Be smart while going for guest posts-whether you are submitting for your website or you are accepting on your blog. Quantity will not help you, but Quality surely will”. Never opt for guest post because it will increase content on your website or will increase back-links, think and analyze if it will rally help your users, or say it more simply-Don’t write for search engines, write for users.

400 words is not a status of good blog post. Simply write a good and detailed blog explaining everything about topic. For Example if you are telling people to visit some palace, write about why get there, how to get there and what to do once they are there. Keep the links to your websites limited to one or two. Your Article should not have and spelling or grammar errors (I know I have a lot of grammar errors on Smoking Onions, but I am trying to improve and hopefully will do better in coming future).Try to give references to other authority sites as well in the article. Submit one article to one palace only. Don’t buy cheap packages which promise to post your article to 100 blogs of different IP’s. Make your own research and find a very good blog. I am sure that noboby will say NO to good and genuine content.

Selecting the blog for posts can be tricky also. Check how many visitors the blog is getting and if the audience is same as your niche? Alexa and Page ranks can be faked, so don’t rely on factors and numbers. Some Blogs will remove your links from content after some time. Check them regularly and tell them clearly in starting not to remove your links. Share the inks to your social networks and you can link back to the post at your site too. Just remember one thing- as long as you are doing quality work, you need not to worry about any Panda, Monkey or Tiger update.

Directory Submissions: Doing Things The Right Way

Getting links form directories used to be one of the great ways to get back-links. And you even get visitors from these directories to your sites. Search Engines used to give great value to links from such directories. But from past six months “SEO GURUS” are mostly neglecting directory submissions because Google has de-indexed a large number of web-directories. And they are right also; what is the meaning of submitting links which are not even going to crawl by search engine spiders? If you look at your link building database, you will find about half of those sites have become useless. So should we stop directory submissions? The Answer is “Don’t Stop – Focus on Quality Websites and Natural Links”.

If you look closely than you will find that only spam and low quality sites are penalized, and a link form DMOZ or Yahoo Directory is as much valuable as it was five years back. Directory Submission will surely give you as much benefits as it gave in past, only if done rightly. Here are some rules those will help you to generate quality links from Web Directories:

Choose Right category: First and the most important factor while submitting to directories is that you should choose right category. If you are submitting your Health websites to travel category, than they will not approved by the admins, and if somehow got approved than such links will only put negative effects on your rankings. Make research on your products and find the best suitable category.

Anchor text and Description: Anchor Text is what will link to your website, and description is short details about your website. Select Anchor text and descriptions wisely. Variations are must. I would say if you want to submit links to hundred directories, make hundred different titles and descriptions.  Keep Your Brand names and keywords in Titles and write original description. I know the process will take some time, but results will be great.

Check Quality of Directory: Check quality of directory where you are going to submit your links. Page rank is just one factor that describes quality and page rank does not guarantee more exposure to your links. Check if the Site is indexed by search engines and if yes, how frequently? Check if the internal pages of directory have page rank or not. Go to SEO Moz and check domain and page authority where you are submitting your links. And one more important factor is that the directory should not contain any spam or illegal links. You would not like to post your link next to a porn link.

Go Slow But Sure: Don’t submit your links to 500 directories in one day and nothing for rest of month. Submit some links daily. SEO is an ongoing process and should be done on regular basis. Make research, select good websites and generate quality links. Quality is always better than Quantity.
